    Michael Kaufer

    Michael Kaufer is a Deaf accessibility advocate, filmmaker, and People Operations Specialist at Apple. He works to expand opportunities for Deaf talent in the film industry through accessibility advocacy, education, and inclusive filmmaking initiatives, while supporting Deaf communities globally through mentorship, events, and film festivals.

    Rebecca Tavares, Ed.D.

    Rebecca Reichmann Tavares is an international affairs consultant and former President & CEO of BrazilFoundation. A former UN diplomat and philanthropy leader, she has worked across Latin America and South Asia advancing gender equity, governance, and social justice. Dr. Tavares serves on several international advisory boards and is recognized globally for her leadership in philanthropy, policy, and human rights.

    Gabriel Lomas, Ph.D

    Gabriel Lomas, Ph.D. is a Professor of Counseling and Director of Counseling Programs at Gallaudet University. An expert in trauma, forensic evaluation, and integrated healthcare, he has secured millions in federal and state grants supporting crisis training and community care. Dr. Lomas is also co-editor of Deaf People in the Criminal Justice System(2021) and has served extensively in counseling, psychology, and forensic advocacy.

    Lisa Gonzales serves as the Statewide Deaf Access Specialist for the California Department of Developmental Services, leading systems change that strengthens accessibility and culturally responsive services. Through policy, program development, and community partnerships, she is dedicated to advancing support and advocacy for Deaf Plus communities.
